I'm writing with the hope that there is a couple out there who would like to go on a wonderful, enriching couples retreat weekend lead by Fran and Tony McQuail - a wise, genuine, and experienced pair of leaders. The focus of weekend is building healthy communication skills between partners, examining places you may be stuck, and helpful ways of attempting to get unstuck and move toward understanding.
The retreat has been set to run with the minimum number of couples, however, yesterday, one of the couples registered had to bow out due to circumstances beyond thier control. The weekend planned is now in danger of being cancelled. We have decided to send out a final call to people, asking that if anyone is called to share this weekend (being held at a the New Life Retreat in the beautiful Lanark highlands), that they call or email myself or Signy CC'd here - she is the other person planning the weekend with me) by supper time tonight [Wednesday February 17]. If you have any questions about it, I would be happy to answer them. Just call and leave a message if I am not in.

This is a wonderful opportunity for couples to strengthen their relationship! Steve and I have attended two Couple Enrichment workshops, one when we were married for two years, and one when we were married for twenty-two. The insights we gained from those workshops have seen us through some difficult times, the kinds all couples face - family, finances, work, health or relationship challenges. We had the opportunity to celebrate the positives in our relationship and learn skills to help us to be better partners in times of difficulty.

This is a workshop for couples in committed relationships of six months or more. It is not marriage counselling or a therapy group, but a supportive environment for couples to explore and appreciate the good things in their relationships, and to learn ways to build on those positive aspects.
The Leader Couple is committed to working on their relationship, and Fran and Tony demonstrate various exercises and communication techniques with honesty and candour, using situations from their own lives.
At a time of so many failed and failing relationships, it very exciting to be with a group of people committed to making their relationships even better.
Several couples in Ottawa have taken Couple Enrichment workshops in the past, and would be glad to with answer any questions you may have. Please contact Signy or Debbie to get in touch with past participants.
